“Bindon Plantation is soul inspiring and defines what we all love about the Lowcountry of South Carolina. The centuries old live oak drive, live oak canopied homesite, and waterfront vistas place you in a simpler time and place. And, the location couldn’t possibly be any better. You’re away from the hustle and bustle but lie within short boating distance to some of the most unique and desirable coastal towns, fine restaurants, and beaches on the entire East coast. There are not many opportunities like Bindon left in the lowcountry of this size and caliber that aren’t developed or heavily encumbered."

Land Summary

Bindon Plantation

You’re welcomed in to the property down a beautiful drive lined with mature pine and ancient live oaks that are estimated to range between 200 and 400 years old. The Historic home site provides the new owners a blank slate for creating their own oasis beneath the canopied oaks. Much of the remaining land is in mature timberland production and provides good habitat for wildlife including a strong turkey and whitetail population. Several trophy coastal whitetail have been harvested here. The North end of the property features Ag fields that grow towering corn and sorghum and provide unmatched dove hunting with plenty of space for all of your closest friends or clients.

Bindon Plantation

The main deep water dock was rebuilt and refurbished this year and is located on the Eastern end of the property on the Pocotaligo River. It’s suits large and small vessels alike. The Pocotaligo River and Stoney Creek provide top shelf crabbing, shrimping, and world class red fishing, with little pressure from the public. The Pocotaligo, along with the Coosewatchie and Tullifiny Rivers all flow together into the mighty Broad River, providing you direct access to the Atlantic Ocean. It’s not hard to fall in love with this property, and we invite you to come experience it with us as well.

“My first exposure to Bindon Plantation was almost 40 years ago. The services of our forestry company had been retained by Buckfield Plantation to provide the management for its considerable timberlands and wildlife resources. Bindon had been acquired by Buckfield from the Edward Turner estate. It’s pine forest is well-stocked with pine pole and sawtimber trees. These pine forested areas are separated from the salt marsh by a forested transition zone known as a maritime forest. Vegetation typical of these forests consists of yaupon, way myrtle, saw palmetto, and American holly. Loblolly pine, live oak, southern red cedar, sweet gum, and other species of oak are often found in these areas as well. Bindon was and remains a stunningly beautiful property."
