Honey Lake Plantation
Established Plantation Featuring a Spectacular 80 +/- Acre Lake; One of Only Two Natural Deep Water Lakes on a Red Hills Plantation
House & Improvements
Selah, meaning to stop, rest, and reflect, is the name given to the 7,000 square foot Honey Lake Plantation estate located on the banks of the 80-acre lake. The setting is one of the most unique in the southeast, with vistas of mature quail woods and seasonal understory grasses out the front door rivaled only by the beauty of the private, spring-fed lake out the back.
Selah was built in 2011 by Bob and Teresa Williamson, and is what most would dream of for a plantation house, complete with the classic revival fašade and columns. The open floorplan of this four bedroom/four and two half bath house is ideal for today's family and entertaining. From the majestic entry with marble floors and grand spiral staircase, the house opens up to a large living, dining, kitchen spread. The details of the house range from cozy to exquisite from the in-home theatre, to a dream executive home office and gym. The outdoor space is a continuation of the interior living with a horseshoe-shaped infinity pool, spa, porch with retractable screens, a covered grilling pavilion/bar and balconies from the upstairs bedrooms.
The Historic Pansy Poe cottage is just beyond the main house on the shores of Honey Lake. It is probably hard to get guests to leave after they experience the comfortable accommodations that feature some of the best views of the lake. It’s been completely updated since Pansy Poe built it, and has three bedrooms. There is a fishing pier and boathouse and large brick patio/barbeque combo here, as well.
Other plantation improvements include over six miles of high fence, two grain bins, a boardwalk through the cypress, chicken coop, high fenced vegetable garden, and a 40-acre irrigation pivot.
"The reproduction costs on these improvements is over $2.4M. Certainly, everyone would build a custom house a little differently, their "dream house"; however, when you see the math that we discounted the improvements you will agree it's perfect!"
